1P-LSD (1-propionyl-LSD) is a semi-synthetic ergoline derivative and presumed prodrug of LSD. The propionyl group at position 1 is removed after ingestion via enzymatic hydrolysis, releasing LSD as the active metabolite. In vitro studies have confirmed this conversion. Effects are virtually identical to LSD in quality, intensity, and duration. 1P-LSD temporarily occupied a legal grey area as a research chemical in some countries before being regulated in most jurisdictions.
